We have developed a Ship Security Assessment (SSA) process basis ISPS Code Part B, so that this process and the SSA report meet or exceeds USCG requirements.

SSA is an integral part of the Ship Security Plan (SSP) and On-Scene Security Survey (OSSS) is an integral part of the SSA.

For the convenience of our various clients, based on their requirements, we have divided the SSA process into three essential components;

  1. The Collection of Background Information
  2. The On-Scene Security Survey (OSSS)
  3. Analysis of the information obtained from the above two items and Risk Assessment of the vulnerabilities, to provide counter measures to mitigate the security risks.

From the above three processes, we create a Ship Security Assessment Report, which is used to develop a Ship Security Plan.

We collect all background information, before proceeding to the vessel to carry out the OSSS. Once the OSSS is completed, the information compiling and risk assessment analysis is carried out in our office to create the SSA Report, which is used to develop the SSP.

Most Surveyors carry out the Ship Security Assessment on board while conducting the On-Scene Security Survey. We understand from Recognized Security Organizations (RSO - normally an IACS member) that these SSAs are insufficient since the information is obtained merely from contracted employees on board the vessel. Quite often the Surveyors are not qualified to carry out such surveys or assessment.

Shiptech can carry out the On Scene Security Survey at any convenient port followed by the creation of an Ship Security Assessment Report and Ship Security Plan.

Shiptech has aligned itself with a leading RSO and IACS member in providing superior services. We are in the process of being approved by them as a Recognized Security Consultant, thus giving us an edge in credibility with any RSO. We also have strategic alliances with a specialized security company thus allowing us to tap into hardware aspects of the code.

Those of you who have seen our ship inspection reports or manuals will no doubt appreciate the superlative standard and quality in the products we deliver.

Our Survey service will cover most ports and as always the assessments and plans will be sent out from Miami.
